Lamons Family

I have another great family session to share with you!  This time, I got to enjoy the company of a "real" kid; you know, one that can talk with me, share her opinions, formulate her own thoughts?!  Not just a cute little toddler, but a real big kid!  And what a joy she is!  I loved watching this big sister blossom during our session!  Oh yes, and the rest of this family is awesome too!!  See for yourself!

Little brother was constantly reaching for his sister and his little face would just light up when he was with her!

I love the stream of drool in this next one!

One of the great things about a family session is the time you've put aside to just be with your family with no other distractions.  My heart warmed to hear this mom whisper to me that she hadn't had that much physical affection from her daughter in a long long time!

But it was big sister's moment with her daddy that really pulled at my heart.  Before their session I asked each person to think of the thing they are most thankful for in each family member.  When dad shared his gratitude for certain attributes in his daughter, she snuggled up to him and eventually tried to inconspicuously wipe a tear from the corner of her eye.  Daddy's girl!

Another thing I asked big sister to do before the session was to think about how she would plan a perfect day out with her family.  When I asked her about it, she shyly replied that a day at the beach would be nice.  Later in the session, she and dad walked off to explore and when they came back dad confided that she whispered to him that the family experience she was having during our shoot would be a perfect family day to her!  I can't tell you how proud I felt in that moment!

This was another great morning spent with a sweet family that revitalized my soul!  To top it all off, I received the following that evening from the mutual friend that referred this family to me:

"You just received the most amazing compliment ever. [Big sister] said you are "pretty cool" to work with ;-). She's not one to compliment adults ever so you rocked it today!"

Well, Lamons Family, you're pretty cool yourselves! ;)
