I met this next family while I was lying on my back with my mouth flung open.  Mom, Jamie, is my dental hygienist!

She wanted some photos of her son who just celebrated his second birthday.  So we met at Hurricane Shoals Park and set off exploring.  This little guy sat still for approximately 45 seconds (this first photo below), then ran around for the next hour!  I had a blast chasing him around and big sister did a great job helping out.  Enjoy this silly, headstrong, curious little boy!

He was giving me his best "blue steel", so we started a game of hide-and-seek to see if we could pull a smile out of him...

...it worked!

We got a few with big sister too!

As we were walking back to the car at the end of the shoot, he decided to put on his hat, grab his gun, and pose!  You can never put the camera down when you're working with silly guys like this!

As I moaned and groaned my way into the hospital one year ago, I wondered if I'd ever be able to love another child as much as I did Salem.  Then, at 1:11 in the afternoon, that silly question flew out of the window as I met my Blair.  She is sweet, observant, silly, and cuddly.  I'm so thankful to have been with her every day of her first year and I am so excited to continue to watch her grow.

I am sometimes envious of the photos my clients get of their families and growing children; I can put 100% of myself into their photos, but am often grabbing the camera between sorting the laundry and stirring the beans when it comes to my own children.  So I scheduled a one-year shoot for Blair.  I actually put it on the "work" calendar, bought an outfit, and hauled everybody (and everything!) to the park.  Here is the end result!

She was so rotten with that headband!!  We tried giving her this favorite bear, and while that made her smile, it did NOT distract her from tearing the headband off in an instant!

After asking Salem to hold Blair's hand, she quickly grabbed her by the arm and started trying to drag her through the field.  Bo said "no thanks."

But we managed a few of the Smith Sisters!

I truly can not believe how quickly a year can fly by.  I still remember the smell of her new baby skin and the sound of those little baby noises she made in the night. Here's to a very happy first birthday to you Bo Bo!

Once again, time has marched on ahead of my ability to keep up!  Just 6 months ago, little Holden was learning to sit up, and now he's about to celebrate his first birthday! 

We started our session incorporating a SOLID rocking horse made by Holden's grandfather.

Then we walked on over to explore the rest of the park...

...and crawled a little too!

Holden loved feeling the wet grass between his fingers and toes and trying to climb these boxes!

Holden is having a "time flies" birthday party and mom, Karen, has been busy making these windmills.  SO CUTE!

Happy first year, Holden!  You're a sweet tempered explorer with great parents!  I hope you have a perfect birthday!

Sweet baby "C" is here!  Mom and dad were patient in learning the gender and so had a name picked out for a girl or boy.  These photos were taken at their maternity session a few weeks ago.  Mom told me not to spend much time on the girl name...

...and sure enough, her hunch was correct!  I'm so excited to share some photos of their perfect, 12-days-new, baby BOY!!

This guy didn't want to miss any of the action, but we managed a few sleepy moments!

I had a wonderful time soaking up some new baby love!  I can't believe my Blair was that small only a year ago!

Congratulations again - Clayton is another perfect addition to the family tree :)
