After meeting Dustin and Chelsey for the first time, I traveled to a wedding that afternoon on Lake Lanier and my handy iPhone map lady directed me to go over Buford Dam. Although I have lived in the area forever and frequent the lake often, I had never seen the Buford Dam area before. I knew right away that it would be a perfect location for this outdoorsy couple's engagement photos. We enjoyed some beautiful spring weather and loved exploring the parks. Enjoy a peek into our morning!
Dustin and Chelsey are the sweetest couple and I connected with them right away. They met in Dahlonega while attending North Georgia College (I know the name has changed now, but old habits die hard!) just a few years after I was there. Living in that area, they spent time hiking the nearby trails and enjoying nature. Dustin even proposed on a river. Enjoy a peek into our morning! Dustin's grandmother made this quilt and he had it when he proposed to Chelsey. I love including memories like this into their photos! We then traveled to their favorite local coffee shop. Chelsey is a teacher and was excited to incorporate her love for reading into the session. As we were shooting outside the coffee shop, I put the camera down to allow a few people to pass. From across the street I watched Chelsey whisper something to Dustin, then they both erupted into laughter. It turns out that the people passing by included Chelsey's ex-boyfriend and she wasn't sure of the proper etiquette for greeting one's ex while shooting engagement photos with the guy who stole her away! You guys really are a charming couple and I'm so excited to witness the start of your marriage in a few months!

I'm an aunt - again - again! Some of you may remember a very similar opening statement from a few weeks ago when I was introducing Baby Brooklyn. Well the good things just keep coming in my ever-growing family. My sister and her husband welcomed their third son a few weeks ago. At just a week old, baby Garrett was a trooper for his first (of many if I have anything to say about it!) photo shoot. Enjoy my newest little nephew! I think he is a nice mix of his two older brothers, but those sweet red lips are definitely a feature he shares with his oldest brother. Oooh, I could just squish him thinking about that little face! Call me biased, but I'd say we make some darn cute babies in this family! Congratulations Patrick and Mary Colleen! I can't wait to watch him grow!
It has already been a year since my family gained the sweet and funny baby Elisa! We met at Stone Mountain Park to document this big milestone for her. The weather on either side of the day we were shooting was sunny with temperatures in the mid 70s, but it was COLD for us! Sweet Elisa was a trooper and endured the chilliness, with a little help from her favorite snacks! We would bundle her up, get her in position with a few puffs, then take the blanket off long enough to snap a few photos! She was officially over it by this last photo, but I think she is ADORABLE in her sweet puffy dress with that heartbroken look on her face! I hear that she got all bundled up and took a long nap after our session :) Thanks for braving the spring weather with me and happy birthday sweet Elisa!!
I had a great time during the Easter Mini Sessions! We got to play with a baby duck, a baby chick, and even a bunny rabbit! Check out all the cuties in their Easter best! Thanks to everyone who came out and a very special thanks to Jodi and her family for the beautiful location and for allowing us to play with some of the animals! Happy Easter!
