About a year ago, I did one of my favorite family sessions to date. When they contacted me to schedule another session, I was a little nervous that I wouldn't be able to compete with their last session! But the joy and sweetness of this family shines like the autumn sun and I am so excited to share their session with you (of course, the shining autumn sun played it's roll very well too!). This is one of the first shots I took that evening and I adore everything about it!! I mean, really?!? Who is actually that perfect?? Nathan's Bubby and Papa got to come along for this session and he was overjoyed to have them near! Families with young children are some of my favorite things to photograph, mostly because the joy in a child CAN'T BE CONTAINED and it is so infectious! I leave these shoots feeling so inspired and re-energized after watching the adoration in all the adult eyes for the playful little eyes. If you follow me on Facebook, you might've seen my post about tearing up while editing this session (and if you DON'T follow me on Facebook, you should by clicking here!). This next photo of Nathan and his Papa is the one that got me right in the feels. I have lost both my grandaddies and would dearly love to feel their strong hands wrapped around me and their soft faces pressed to mine just one more time. Grandparents are such a gift and Nathan is so lucky to have such great ones so close! I know I say it often, but I really feel like I have the best job in the world! Thanks so much for spending some time with me on a perfect fall afternoon and for sharing some of your love of family with me! You guys really lifted me up!

After rounds and rounds of rescheduling due to weather and/or sickness, I finally got to meet up with two of my favorite subjects (and their mom and Grammie, too!!). It had been raining that morning, but we were determined to make this session work. The sun came out right as we were arriving and it was just perfect! Enjoy busy boy, Wylie, and sweet little sister, Evie! Oh, the joy of a little boy getting dirty and finding nature's treasures! When you're working with a 3 year old and a 7 month old, sometimes these are the photos you get! Nothing some Smarties and a superman pose can't fix! MU-AH!! As we reached the point in our travels around the park that was the farthest from shelter, a huge dark cloud rushed us and poured down on us! But we made it fun with a little rendition of "If all of the raindrops were lemon drops and gumdrops..." Little sister took the rainstorm as an opportunity to snooze in the wagon under a blanket, and woke ready for more smiles! It's always so great to catch up with you guys! I'm so glad we persisted to make this session happen - rain and all!
I recently had the pleasure of reuniting with a beautiful mama-to-be! My mom and her mom have been great friends our whole lives, but it's been years since we've all been together. Now Meredith and her husband Tim are expecting a baby boy of their own in just a few short weeks and I was allowed to spend a morning with them celebrating this exciting time. This is the sash from Meredith's wedding dress. I love incorporating mementos from life's other exciting milestones! At one point, I casually asked "Dad, can you join her in this photo?". They were both shocked to here Tim referred to as "Dad", but that title will become as natural as this gorgeous sunlight when that baby boy arrives soon! Meredith, you truly are a stunning lady and I'm so excited for you and Tim as you enter this new phase of life. Good luck in the next several weeks and I can't wait to meet your little man!
