TOGETHER, THEY HAVE LOST OVER 100 POUNDS!!
They have been supporting each other with their lifestyle changes and I've never seen them happier :)
I just adore this couple! We met shortly after they were married when we got together for a trash-the-dress session (one of the first sessions I posted as 214 Photography!). This time around, Brent and Vanessa wanted some photos to celebrate another big milestone: TOGETHER, THEY HAVE LOST OVER 100 POUNDS!! They have been supporting each other with their lifestyle changes and I've never seen them happier :) "Take a picture of our smaller butts!" Brent's parents came along too, so we got a few of them together while Vanessa was completing her wardrobe change. Ta-dah! Isn't this girl beautiful?! She let me in on the secret that she bought the dress a while back for $8 determined that she would rock it when she lost some weight. I think she looks amazing in it and it is the perfect outfit for this shoot! He's sexy and he knows it! I'm so proud of you two! You're inspiring all of us to get up and accomplish our goals, whatever they may be! Here's to health and happiness!

Katie has been my bestie since we saw each other's frizzy hair from across the room in 5th grade! In the many years following, we spent countless hours together planning a summer camp for kids, going on an eating strike at a church retreat, sunning on the beach, talking all night, and helping each other through breakups (we both discovered hair conditioner and flat irons too!). Now I'm beyond excited that Katie has found her match in Dylan and, come November, they will be Mr. & Mrs.!! Enjoy my lovely Katie and her handsome groom-to-be, Dylan. I asked Katie to walk up to Dylan and put her arms around him. These are the results from Dylan... ..."I know you're trying to get me to smile"..."Ok, I'll play along"..."Dang, I just can't help having a genuine smile on my face!" Katie was a champ going off-roading in her heels for this shot Soon the road will be replaced by the aisle and your clothes will change to a tux and gown, but your connection will only grow stronger as you take the next big step together. Congratulations again!
You might remember my nephew Ryan from his newborn session in October. He's now 6 months old and his parents were ready for some new family photos, so we met at Sims Lake Park in Suwanee. Ryan didn't let the stormy weather forecast get him down and I had a great time capturing all the sweet interactions between my "little" brother and his family. Enjoy the Wrights!
Having just made the announcement, lovebirds Casey and Christy were beaming with the news of their baby-to-be when my little Blair was born. Now, what seems like a few short months later, baby Chloe is here and perfect! This is another family connected to me through music as Casey and I marched in CorpsVets Drum and Bugle Corps together. Though our lives have evolved from the days of horn arc, Rockmart, bus rides, and parties, friendships stay the same and we picked up right where we left off. I've enjoyed getting to know Christy and I'm looking forward to the days when our girls can play together on a humid night to the sound of brass! I'm honored that I got to snuggle with sweet Chloe at just 9 days old. Enjoy! We started with a wrap made by yours truly with the help of some Kool-aid...maybe another blog post in my future :) Then it was time to eat and daddy took the opportunity to soak in some baby love! Meanwhile, I took the opportunity to explore the perfect home they've worked to create for her. With a full belly of mommy's milk, Chloe was ready to get back to work I have a thing for hands and feet anyway, but I melt for baby fingers and toes! The Easter Bunny delivered a special egg this year :) Bunny hat and diaper cover handmade by Kristy from Willow's Garden. I loved working with her and can't wait to get some more goodies! Casey has been bursting with pride since the moment he found that he was going to be a dad. During the whole shoot, he was comforting Chloe, changing diapers, cleaning bottles, and - best of all - letting mom rest! Chloe is one lucky girl... I did a double take when I saw this blanket made for Christy by her grandmother... ...this is Salem at 4 weeks old with a blanket made for my husband by his grandmother Love those sweetly-dreamin' grins Yes, I know what you're thinking: this glowing bright-eyed beauty CAN'T be a brand new mom. Isn't she amazing!? Congratulations guys! Chloe is just a doll and I can't wait to see her grow (and to see which instrument she plays)!
I found a new gem in Poole's Mill Park near Cumming, GA. That is where I met Karen, Jeff, and little Holden for their session. The park contains a covered bridge, creek, and waterfalls along with picnic areas and a playground (I'm super excited to go back this summer and play on the sliding rocks!). The lighting was perfect and I had a great time discovering all we had in common. Jeff and Karen are fellow musicians and Jeff even marched in Spirit of Atlanta Drum Corps. Spirit is very close in our hearts as my mom was a charter member in 1977 and met my dad there in 1978. My brother, sister, and I marched there 20+ years later. My husband and I met in Spirit in 2000, and the rest is history! Enough about me - let's see this adorable family already!! Just 2 days older than Blair, Holden melted my heart with those wide blue eyes and sweet contagious grin. I LOVE this age! Holden was AMAZED by his mommy playing his Great Grandmother's trumpet. He did a little happy dance after each note! Another awesome family to add to the happy thoughts list :)
I had the pleasure of seeing Miss Ally again recently for some Easter photos. Despite fighting the pollen, she was the typical silly and fun little Ally I've watched grow. And, as always, those blue eyes took my breath away! The stump became her stage for a "Red Solo Cup" performance :) Maybe my favorite from the session - this was just after throwing pine straw into the air! You can take the girl out of the country... We were able to get a few of Ally and Wylie together. Isn't he handsome?! We made an afternoon of it and had a picnic in the park after photos. We couldn't have asked for a better day and I'm so grateful for the time we were able to spend together. Thanks again LeAnn, Jessie, Debbie, Karen, and everyone else that helped make such great memories for me and my family :)
