We started out with a few family photos. As usual, Wylie was just happy to be outside and spent most of the afternoon there while I played with his baby sister.
I got to meet another brand new baby girl recently! Meet baby Evie, precious little sister to one of my favorite little dudes, Wylie! Evie was a perfect angel for her first photo shoot; she slept the whole time and settled right into any positions we placed her in. I could have stayed all day just snapping more photos of her! We started out with a few family photos. As usual, Wylie was just happy to be outside and spent most of the afternoon there while I played with his baby sister. You may want to sit down before scrolling any further...the dimples on this grinning baby are sure to make you melt! After she snuggled with the blanket made by her great great grandmother, we got to see all the faces of this little girl! As Evie carries the name of her late Aunt, we thought it only appropriate to use Aunt Ginny's symbolic butterflies in the session. I can imagine Ginny's hand feeling the soft skin of her new niece where the butterfly lights. I also couldn't resist some Easter Bunny photos! This daddy's hands and heart are already wrapped around one tiny little finger :) And there's Evie's beautiful, strong mama! I can't thank you guys enough for your continued support and friendship. It was truly a pleasure to photograph baby Evie and I'm so excited to see her grow! Big hugs to your sweet family!

I'm an aunt - again!! My brother and his wife welcomed sweet Baby Brooklyn (or Baby Broccoli as she is affectionately called by my 2 year old!) into the world less than two weeks ago. She is a perfect little doll and everyone in this new family of four is adjusting very well. Here's a little peak into all of her 6-day-old cuteness! Click here to see her big brother's newborn shoot from a few years ago. Can you tell they are siblings?! I'm so happy to see our clan expanding, and so lucky to be a part of it! Patrick and Autumn, thanks for letting me spend the afternoon with you guys! I can't wait to see her sweet face again soon!
She's here, she's here! Ryan and Jesse's sweet little girl made her arrival just 4 days before I got to meet her last weekend. Meet baby Bayleigh... Ryan and Jesse said that little Bayleigh would move around in the womb when Jesse started talking so that she was on the side closest to him. Daddy's girl from the start! But when Bayleigh was upset, it was mommy's soft voice and pretty face that calmed her down :) Welcome to the world sweet girl!
Barely 6lbs, sweet little Amelia made her debut just 9 days before I had the pleasure of meeting her. She was an angel for her first photos and mom and dad are bursting with pride and adoration for her! I roamed the house during Amelia's lunch break and found all the exciting things that come with not knowing your baby's gender prior to birth. I remember how excited I was to see pink balloons on my mailbox after 9 months of guessing! After her lunch, Amelia was bright-eyed and ready to socialize :) After some snuggles from mommy, she was ready for another nap Congratulations on creating your sweet family! I loved meeting all of you and I'm so appreciative of your willingness to share her with me for a few hours! She's just a doll :)
Come over and snuggle my 6-day-old? Well, twist my arm! Baby Braxton is the son of one of my first clients. I've loved following them through other milestones in their lives and was so excited to find out they were making the jump to parenthood. Presenting: the sweet and handsome baby Braxton :) Mom and Dad are self-proclaimed Disney addicts! Braxton's super cute room is in a Monster's Inc. theme. They even had a Mike Wazowski outfit made for him. Warning: prepare to be overwhelmed with adorableness (yes, I think I just made that a word!) Vanessa and Brent are already such loving and attentive parents Congratulations guys! I'm so proud of you and can't wait to see how your little "monster" grows!
I've been on a baby streak! Here's another sweetie that I got to meet at 4 weeks old. I'm proud to introduce the alert and blue-eyed baby Cason :) After some snuggle time with mom and dad (and his new friend, the pacifier), he settled into a sweet nap. What a cutie, huh?! Thanks so much Jeff and Ashley for sharing your little boy with me!
My ever growing extended family is at it again! I'm so happy to be able to introduce you to the newest addition, baby Elisa! At just 12 days old, she didn't quite weigh 7lbs but was one of the strongest and most alert babies I've worked with! I have never shot a baby that actually LOOKED at the camera! She would hear the clicking, then turn her head. Her little eyebrows would lift slightly when she started to focus on the source of the noise! She is also wins the prize for the most smiles! She has extra sweet dreams! The constant adoration of two new parents in love with their creation... My cousins are a very artistic couple - they painted this wall mural themselves (you should see some of mom, Aubrie's, carved pumpkins at halloween!). They carried the hot air balloon theme throughout the room. Our Grandaddy flew hot air balloons and he would have been so proud to see his influence in his great granddaughter's room. Elisa's dad, Will, had to create the design for the lego balloon online and ordered customized lego people for the basket. So cute! Congratulations Will and Aubrie! Your little Elisa is an angel and you guys will do great by her. I can't wait to see her again at the next family gathering!
Babies are great. Babies that I'll get to see regularly are even better! Such is the case with little Lindy June. My cousin, Stephen, and wife, Katie welcomed my Grandmama's 15th great grandchild on January 9. I got to meet Lindy at just 10 days old. Here's a little of what I did between snuggling her and catching up with my cousins. Doesn't she look like a perfect little baby doll in Katie's mom's dress? :) Gotta love the pout before the cry! Congratulations again Stephen and Katie. I'm so excited to watch her grow...and glad to have another elf to help pass out the gifts at Christmas in a few years :)
Sweet baby Ava is here!! Cori and Phil welcomed their sweet baby girl on her due date! Just 8 days later, we met up to photograph all her perfection :) After snoozing for me for a while, Ava woke up ready to eat, so I took the opportunity to explore her nursery. We wanted to incorporate the wrap from Cori's maternity session into the newborn session. Ava didn't like the swaddle, but once she got her arms free, she was happy! Cori and Phil want to measure Ava's length with the piano as she grows. At 8 days old, she is almost two octaves long! There's nothing like going to "work" to snuggle with a brand new baby! Thanks so much for allowing me to continue to follow my dreams Cori and Phil. Congratulations on your beautiful little Ava! You now get to explore a whole new kind of music - of giggles and footsteps and family.
:) Whenever I get the exciting job of shooting a maternity session, I try to get the photos back to the client super quickly so that they can enjoy them before the new baby comes. That was my intention with Richard and Michelle. We had their maternity session on September 22, I posted a few photos on the blog on October 1, and sent them the photos on October 2 (10 days after the shoot). I thought I was doing pretty darn good! Imagine my surprise to open my email on October 3 and learn the news that little Matthew was already 2 days old! That little guy had had enough of being cooped up and decided make his debut a few weeks early! Healthy and perfectly perfect, here is baby Matthew at only 10 days old (and still 3 days short of his original due date!). Love all that hair! This family travels frequently and is already working on getting Matthew's passport for an international trip next year. They thought a luggage photos was only too appropriate! Nothing much sweeter than a new mama with her baby :) Super cute Smurf nursery Dad, Richard's, only request was a few sports-related photos. Forget expensive bouncy seats and bassinets, Matthew loved being in that baseball glove! Congratulations guys! Thanks so much for letting me soak up some baby love!
