I recently had the pleasure of photographing the sweetest and most photogenic family in Historic Downtown Buford. They were so easy to work with and I could've just kept my lens on big sister ALL DAY! Take a look to see what I mean... I love the colors this family chose for their session! The colors are perfect for summer and they coordinate without matching. Can you come dress my family for our next shoot?! Come on! Look at that little face!! And those lips!?! ...I could photograph her ALL DAY I'm tellin' ya! And we could hardly keep sweet little sister still long enough to capture all of her beauty and spunk! Look at that happy family! You guys were a joy to work with and I'm looking forward to seeing you around the preschool next year!

I am so incredibly honored to share this next session with you. Baby Gianna was born 7 months ago, when she was given a less than 20% chance of survival. She was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart syndrome, has spent all of her life in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at Egleston, and has already undergone 2 open heart surgeries. With another surgery on the horizon, we set up a session to document all of the sweetness that is "Baby Gigi". And this girl's family - JUST AMAZING! There were so many laughs and smiles in that little hospital room that I'm surprised the walls remained standing! I witnessed an unbelievable amount of love as Gianna's parents, one set of grandparents, and some of her aunts and uncles came together to shower this sweet girl in praise and attention. Here's the strong and brave little Gianna. Mom, Jenni, was referred to (several times) as a hoarder due to all of the accessories she keeps for her little diva! Gigi was all decked out for her photo shoot! I'm told this is the classic Gianna side-eye! Daddy time! Grandpa had the magic touch to bring a grin to this generally somber girl...much to the chagrin of all of the other family members in the room! I adore these next photos! Despite the circumstances, that is a room full of happy, grateful, loving, people! Nothing quite like the love between a mother and her joy! Due to the tubes and machinery that Gianna is hooked to, she doesn't usually wear clothing. Everyone was SO excited to see Gigi in her pretty dress that mom altered to work around her medical equipment. But these next photos are Gianna in her "natural state" as the family told me: big headband, frilly socks, and all her favorite snugglies. These are all of Gigi's Beads of Courage that she has earned with milestones, procedures, and acts of bravery during her stay at Egleston (she was kind of over it, if you can't tell by the expression on her face!). I can't thank you guys enough for letting me spend some time with you and your little angel! I left the hospital with a smiling heart! I'll be sending warm thoughts your way as you continue to work to bring baby Gigi home!!
Visit The Children's Heart Foundation to see what you can do to help baby Gianna and other children with congenital heart defects. I'm an aunt - again - again! Some of you may remember a very similar opening statement from a few weeks ago when I was introducing Baby Brooklyn. Well the good things just keep coming in my ever-growing family. My sister and her husband welcomed their third son a few weeks ago. At just a week old, baby Garrett was a trooper for his first (of many if I have anything to say about it!) photo shoot. Enjoy my newest little nephew! I think he is a nice mix of his two older brothers, but those sweet red lips are definitely a feature he shares with his oldest brother. Oooh, I could just squish him thinking about that little face! Call me biased, but I'd say we make some darn cute babies in this family! Congratulations Patrick and Mary Colleen! I can't wait to watch him grow!
It has already been a year since my family gained the sweet and funny baby Elisa! We met at Stone Mountain Park to document this big milestone for her. The weather on either side of the day we were shooting was sunny with temperatures in the mid 70s, but it was COLD for us! Sweet Elisa was a trooper and endured the chilliness, with a little help from her favorite snacks! We would bundle her up, get her in position with a few puffs, then take the blanket off long enough to snap a few photos! She was officially over it by this last photo, but I think she is ADORABLE in her sweet puffy dress with that heartbroken look on her face! I hear that she got all bundled up and took a long nap after our session :) Thanks for braving the spring weather with me and happy birthday sweet Elisa!!
I had a great time during the Easter Mini Sessions! We got to play with a baby duck, a baby chick, and even a bunny rabbit! Check out all the cuties in their Easter best! Thanks to everyone who came out and a very special thanks to Jodi and her family for the beautiful location and for allowing us to play with some of the animals! Happy Easter!
I got to meet another brand new baby girl recently! Meet baby Evie, precious little sister to one of my favorite little dudes, Wylie! Evie was a perfect angel for her first photo shoot; she slept the whole time and settled right into any positions we placed her in. I could have stayed all day just snapping more photos of her! We started out with a few family photos. As usual, Wylie was just happy to be outside and spent most of the afternoon there while I played with his baby sister. You may want to sit down before scrolling any further...the dimples on this grinning baby are sure to make you melt! After she snuggled with the blanket made by her great great grandmother, we got to see all the faces of this little girl! As Evie carries the name of her late Aunt, we thought it only appropriate to use Aunt Ginny's symbolic butterflies in the session. I can imagine Ginny's hand feeling the soft skin of her new niece where the butterfly lights. I also couldn't resist some Easter Bunny photos! This daddy's hands and heart are already wrapped around one tiny little finger :) And there's Evie's beautiful, strong mama! I can't thank you guys enough for your continued support and friendship. It was truly a pleasure to photograph baby Evie and I'm so excited to see her grow! Big hugs to your sweet family!
I'm an aunt - again!! My brother and his wife welcomed sweet Baby Brooklyn (or Baby Broccoli as she is affectionately called by my 2 year old!) into the world less than two weeks ago. She is a perfect little doll and everyone in this new family of four is adjusting very well. Here's a little peak into all of her 6-day-old cuteness! Click here to see her big brother's newborn shoot from a few years ago. Can you tell they are siblings?! I'm so happy to see our clan expanding, and so lucky to be a part of it! Patrick and Autumn, thanks for letting me spend the afternoon with you guys! I can't wait to see her sweet face again soon!
If you haven't heard, Santa is coming to visit 214 Photography! Actually, Santa will be returning as we've already gotten to see him once this year. Enjoy this peak into our awesome Santa experience! Santa will be coming back on November 23, so contact me today to reserve your spot!
I am beyond excited to announce something very special for this holiday season! Santa is making a special trip just to spend some time with you and your family! Santa will be here on Saturday, November 23 to read books, share cookies, and discuss that very important wish list with your awestruck kids. You can skip the lines and chaos of the mall and offer your family a one-on-one experience with Santa that they'll always remember. See the details for these mini sessions below. Availability for these sessions is very limited, so be sure to contact me soon if you're interested in this unique experience.
Oh, I just love the holidays!! :) She's here, she's here! Ryan and Jesse's sweet little girl made her arrival just 4 days before I got to meet her last weekend. Meet baby Bayleigh... Ryan and Jesse said that little Bayleigh would move around in the womb when Jesse started talking so that she was on the side closest to him. Daddy's girl from the start! But when Bayleigh was upset, it was mommy's soft voice and pretty face that calmed her down :) Welcome to the world sweet girl!
